The printer features a 10 W 450 nm laser module from China and a high-end galvanometer set. Heating is provided by two 200 W halogen tube heaters for the print bed and 200 W silicone heating pads for both the powder and print beds. The frame is constructed from 2020 profile aluminium extrusions and aluminium sheets, with numerous custom aluminium parts requiring CNC milling, adding to the overall cost and complexity.

The electronics include two custom PCBs: the GATE1 for galvo and temperature control, and the ZERO1 for zero-crossing dimming, designed using EasyEDA. However, PCB Gerbers and EasyEDA project links are not provided. A Radxa Rock Pi, paired with a 7-inch touchscreen, runs a modified Klipper version and custom control software.

The mechanics can be viewed via Fusion 360 Live or downloaded as a STEP model. SLS4All’s high cost and custom part requirements might challenge some builders, but its completion is a notable development for DIY SLS 3D printing.

You can learn more about the project and how to get it, over at the SLS4ALL website.
